Organizational Relationships with Synergy

July 6th, 2010

Businesses that use Exact’s Synergy software to help manage Accounts such as Prospects and Customers have asked for functionality such as “Who does this Contact Person report to?”

In standard Synergy, this information could be put into the notes for each contact person, but it would be very difficult to extract this information.

With our new Synergy tool, we are able to capture this information on each Contact card.  Modifications can be made easily by all Resources within your organization, even if they do not have the rights to make changes to the card.  A button is added to your Contacts screen to allow the displaying of this information in a easy to view format.

Using Projects in Synergy – How to Start

February 17th, 2010

In response to inquiries from customers about the use of Projects with the Exact Synergy product, the staff at www.synergyexperts.com is creating a new EventPak.  This tool will help customers understand the use of Projects within Synergy, with a new user manual.

Creating and Tracking Milestones has always been a manual process with Synergy.  The Event Manager portion of the EventPak will automatically create Requests which are Milestone Related upon the creation of new projects.  A Manager needs to add information such as Starting and Completion Target Dates, Expected Hours and other data to begin the monitoring of the projects.

Requests have been created to track time spent on the various A Request has also been created to allow the tracking of additional notes as the project progresses.

The EventPak provides reports which allow for the monitoring of the Milestones and other important Project details.   These reports can be linked directly to the Project screen with the use of Exact’s SDK tool – which can be done with your Business partner quickly with the instructions provided in the kit.

A video is being created shortly and will be available on our website.  This EventPak will be released for sale on March 1, 2010 and will be initially priced at $250.  Begin using Synergy’s Project functionality quickly and with minimal expense.

Synergy ASP Pages are Easy to Create

January 12th, 2010

For customers that use Exact’s Synergy in their daily business activities, you may find it very beneficial to create custom ASP Pages for your employees.  These ASP Pages can contain information from your Accounting / Distribution / Manufacturing Modules of Exact’s Progression, Macola ES, Max or JobBoss databases.

Information from these back office systems can be presented in Synergy so your employees can stay in one software program.  This minimizes the amount of training them to access this data within your back office software.

The Donas Group can create these ASP Pages and install them on your Synergy menu or if you have basic programming skills, you may take our 25 development templates and create your specific views.  Within minutes, you may begin bringing data from your abckoffice software and displaying to your Synergy customers.

Our manual “Creating Custom ASP Pages” is available for purchase at our website www.synergyexpert.com.  A video is being created to highlight examples of custom ASP Pages and should be available on our website within 14 days.

Create Projects from a Synergy Request

September 2nd, 2009

A New Tool is being created by www.synergyexpert.com which will allow Synergy Resources to create New Projects” based upon a Workflow request.”

This tool was developed as a result of a customer needing to ensure that each Project created would have data validated during the entry process through a series of drop down responses.

Creating a new project in Synergy allows the Project Manager to use date fields, number fields, yes/no fields and text fields.  There are five of each category within a new project.

The tool will function like this example:  A Resource will create a “New Project” workflow request.  Within the Request, there will be the User Defined Fields that will be specific to the Project.  A Synergy System Manager will create this request and may elect to have some of the User defined fields considered mandatory.

Once the Request has been created (and “Approved” if required), Exact’s Event Manager will begin the process of creating the Project.  Once the Project has been created – resources can be added or Child Projects can be created.  The Event Manager is required for this tool to function.

This tool is expected to be placed on our website for sale by October 1st.  A brochure and Presentation will be created to demonstrate its functionality.

Additional personalizations of this tool may be made by our Development Team to allow for specific requirements which may be necessary for your organization in the process of Creating New Projects.
